Privacy policy
Last updated 2 October 2026 · company-level policy · applies to this website and, by default, to our apps
This policy explains what Escape Plan Software Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects through this website and, by default, through the apps we publish. It is written in plain English rather than legal boilerplate. Where a specific app collects more than described here, that app links to its own privacy policy, which takes priority for that app.
Who we are
Escape Plan Software Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17262078, with its registered office at Suite 10906, 5 Brayford Square, London E1 0SG, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@escapeplan.software.
This website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, includes no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads no fonts or scripts from third-party servers. We do not know who reads this site beyond what our hosting provider's infrastructure needs to deliver it.
This site is hosted on Cloudflare. We have not switched on request logging or analytics for it. Cloudflare processes standard technical request data (such as IP address, requested page, and browser type) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse, acting as our processor under its data processing addendum. We do not receive these logs or use them to identify visitors.
Some pages on this site, such as a singing tool, ask to use your microphone. The microphone is on only while the tool is listening (it switches off when you finish, leave the page or stop singing for a while), and the sound is analysed inside your browser, on your device: it is never recorded, stored, or sent to us or anyone else. These pages are delivered by Cloudflare like every other page here, with the same standard request data described above.
Some pages link to our apps on the App Store. If you use Safari on an iPhone or iPad, Safari may show a small App Store banner for the app; Safari builds that banner from Apple's own App Store data, and we receive nothing from it. Our App Store links carry a campaign name (for example, which page the link was on), so that App Store Connect can tell us, as anonymous totals, how many people viewed or downloaded an app from that page. Apple handles that counting under its privacy policy; we never see who you are.
If you email us
If you write to hello@escapeplan.software or support@escapeplan.software, we keep your message and email address so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation. We use this only to handle your enquiry and do not add you to any marketing list without your separate, explicit consent.
Our apps, by default
Our apps collect as little as possible. Specifically, unless an app's own privacy policy says otherwise:
- We do not require you to create an account.
- We do not track you. Some apps send anonymous usage counts (for example, "a paywall was shown" or "a free trial started"), which we use only to make the app better. These counts contain no name, account, email or device identifier, are not linked to you, and are added up per day. We do not store your IP address with them. They are not sent from App Store accounts in the EU or EEA, and you can switch them off in the app's Settings. Each app's privacy policy says whether it sends them and lists exactly what is counted.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, location, or device identifiers.
- We do not show third-party advertising and do not share data with advertisers.
Where an app charges for a subscription or a one-time purchase, that payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your card details; Apple provides us only with confirmation that a purchase was made, so the app can unlock what you paid for.
If a particular app needs to collect something beyond this — for example, because a feature genuinely requires it — that will be disclosed clearly in that app's own privacy policy (linked from the app's page on this site and from within the app), and only what the feature needs will be collected.
Why we use this data
- To reply to enquiries and support requests you send us (our legitimate interest in helping the people who contact us).
- To keep this website and our apps running securely (our legitimate interest in operating our products).
- To meet legal obligations, such as accounting records for purchases processed through Apple.
Who we share data with
- Apple, for app distribution and payment processing, when you use one of our apps.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and routes mail sent to our @escapeplan.software addresses.
- Our mailbox provider, which stores the emails you send us.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it with advertisers. If a future app adds a new service provider (for example, to support a feature that needs one), that provider will be named in that app's own privacy policy before the feature ships.
International transfers
Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States and is certified under the UK Extension to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which UK law recognises as providing adequate protection. Our mailbox provider may also store messages outside the UK; where it does, we rely on the UK's adequacy regulations or on the International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum approved for use in the UK.
How long we keep data
- Emails you send us are kept for up to two years after the last message in the conversation, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- We keep no server logs ourselves. Cloudflare keeps technical request data only for the limited periods set out in its own policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you can ask us to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive a copy in a portable format. Email hello@escapeplan.software and we will respond within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commission (the ICO), at ico.org.uk.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your data, we will say so clearly here and, where relevant, inside the app.
Related policies
Each app we publish has its own privacy policy, reachable from the app's listing on this site and from within the app itself. Where an app's policy is more specific than this one, the app's policy applies to that app.
