Email support@escapeplan.software. A person reads every message. Tell us you're writing about Rowmark, which iPhone or iPad and iOS version you're on, and what you expected to see. Please don't send us patterns you bought unless we ask for something specific.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the number rows done, or the row I'm on? Rows done, like a clicker: tap when you finish a row. Under the number the counter says which row is on your needles (or hook) now, and where it falls in your repeat.
- How do repeats work? In a project's settings, turn on Pattern repeat and set the rows per repeat (and, if you like, the row it starts on and how many repeats there are). The counter then shows, for example, "Repeat 3 · row 5 of 8".
- How do reminders work? Add one in the project's settings, every few rows ("Decrease every 6 rows") or on one row ("Start the heel at row 60"). It shows on the counter, with a firmer tap, on the row it is for. Reminders are not notifications.
- What is the row ruler? A see-through band over your own pattern, one line high. Drag it onto the row you're working and pull its handle to fit the line. If your written pattern labels its rows ("Row 17:"), the ruler moves to the line for the row you're on as you count; you can also tell it which row a line is (ruler menu → This line is row…). On a chart, use ruler menu → Fit the chart grid…, and it moves one row up the chart with each row you count. Ruler moves with each row and the direction are in the ruler menu. Check the line against your pattern; if the ruler is on the wrong line, drag it back. Pinch to zoom.
- Can I count stitches too? Yes. Turn on Count stitches too in the project's settings. By default the stitch count starts again at 0 with each new row.
- How do I put my count on the Lock Screen? On iPhone, on the counter, tap Lock Screen. A Live Activity shows your project and count with + and − buttons. While your iPhone is locked, iOS may ask you to unlock it before a button counts. iOS ends it after about 8 hours; tap Lock Screen again to bring it back. If nothing appears, check Settings → Rowmark → Live Activities.
- Can I use Siri or the Action button? Yes. Say "Add a row in Rowmark", or add the "Add a Row" action to the Action button or Control Center (iOS 18 and later). It counts on the project on your counter, the one you opened or counted last. "Take back a row in Rowmark" undoes one.
- I miscounted. Undo takes back your last change exactly (including the ruler and the stitch count). You can also type the right number in the project's settings under Rows done.
- Does the screen stay on? Yes, while the counter or the pattern is open. Turn it off in Settings → Keep the screen on while counting.
- US, UK or metric sizes? Settings → Needle and hook sizes. Old UK needle sizes run the other way (a bigger number is a thinner needle). Where a system has no size, the app shows millimetres.
- Do my projects sync to my iPad? Not in this version: Rowmark runs on iPhone and iPad, but keeps your projects on the device you use it on. Use Settings → Back Up to Files or iCloud Drive, and Restore from a Backup on the other device.
Subscriptions and purchases
- What's free, and what needs a purchase? Before you buy you can count your first rows, free. Everything else needs one plan with everything included: a yearly subscription (with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers), a monthly subscription, or Lifetime, a one-time purchase you pay for once. There are no higher tiers. The purchase screen shows the prices before you start.
- Cancel or change a subscription: open your device's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, or use Settings → Manage Subscription in Rowmark. Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Lifetime is not a subscription: it never renews, so there is nothing to cancel. Buying Lifetime does not cancel a subscription you already have; cancel that one in the same place.
- Restore a purchase on a new device: sign in with the same Apple Account and use Restore Purchases on the subscription screen or in Rowmark's Settings. It brings back a subscription or Lifetime. Your projects are not transferred automatically: restore them from a backup file.
- Refunds: Apple decides refunds. Request one in Rowmark's Settings → Request a Refund (shown while a purchase you paid for is active) or at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple turns you down and you think that's wrong, write to us and we'll look into it.
